St. James Episcopal Church

25 S 3rd St. (1839-40) The congregation was established in 1729 and this church (1839-40) is the oldest in Wilmington. Built in the Gothic-Revival style and designed by Thomas Walter of Philadelphia. There is an 18th century cemetery in the rear along 4th St.
