Booking the best Wilmington, NC vacation property experience:

Get the most from your rental home budget:

  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer months are high season in Southport. To get the best value, consider shifting your family's Wilmington, NC vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Wilmington, NC area visitors guides that include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Wilmington, NC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to choose the perfect vacation rental:

  • Select vacation dates and max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. St James Condo near Pub, Pool, and Marina.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available online. If not, contact the property manager before booking the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you must book a property that allows animals. Get details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a specific Wilmington, NC attraction you are enamored with, browse properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.

Advice for a smooth stay:

  • Get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Document any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if a dispute is filed.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your peaceful home life. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a great stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
