Tips and Tricks for getting the best Wilmington, NC vacation home experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Summer is the most expensive season in Wrightsville Beach. Booking your vacation home in Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
  • In the Wilmington, NC area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Booking your rental home up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Wilmington, NC area visitors guides that include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a property that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.

Advice for a wonderful stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
  • To ensure that damages aren't linked to your stay, record any problem areas upon your arrival. message the rental manager immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
  • Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to stimulate future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
