Located close to the coastal shorelines of Wrightsville Beach, Boca Bay is the place to go for an array of fresh seafood in an elegant and subtly refined atmosphere.

Wilmington has more than its fair share of seafood restaurants to be sure, but Boca Bay is set apart for its varied menus that can cater to patrons of all sized appetites, as well as its creative and elevated twists on seafood staples. Diners will have their choice of the Bar Menu, which features a host of budget-friendly bites and appetizers, the Prixe Fixe menu for multi-course meals, and the standard dinner menu which features soups and salads, starters, raw bar selections, sushi and specialties. (A special banquet menu is also available for wedding receptions and other events.) The dinner menu has the most selections, and while dishes may change regularly, patrons can look forward to decadent entrees like the Flounder Almondine with haricot vert, pomme puree, and lemon beurre blanc, or the Paella with clams, mussels, shrimp, scallops, chorizo and saffron rice. (Steak and chicken dishes are also available for non-seafood fans.)

Always exciting and inspired, Boca Bay is a fine option for a romantic evening out, a grand event, or just a little fresh seafood with good drinks and good friends.

Poplar Grove Plantation

Wilmington visitors can enjoy a visit to one of the oldest peanut plantations in the country with an easy drive to the Poplar Grove Plantation. Located just north of the center of Wilmington along US Highway 17, this semi-remote site is a picturesque and perfectly maintained example of antebellum architecture at its most charming.

Masonboro Island Coastal Estuarine Reserve

Masonboro Island Coastal Estuarine Reserve

Situated on the edge of the Cape Fear Coastline in between the bustling towns of Wrightsville Beach and Carolina Beach, the Masonboro Island Estuarine Reserve is a unique slice of undeveloped and natural barrier island shoreline that’s an important habitat for countless coastal species. Hard to reach but wonderfully isolated, visitors who make a trip to this literal deserted island will be rewarded with great shelling, beautiful landscapes, and miles of beaches to go around.
