Our top Rental booking tips:

How to get the best value:

  • The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
  • Summer time is high season in the Wilmington, NC area. To get the best value, consider changing your family's Wilmington, NC vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines contain deals for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

How to select the perfect vacation rental in the Wilmington, NC area:

  • Select your vacation dates and budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. 035 Basic Instinct by Sunset Vacations has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the host before you reserve the property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.
  • If there's a certain Wilmington, NC beach you are enamored with, look for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .

More considerations for your visit:

  • Add the property manager's information to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few problems.
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Document any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if a dispute is filed.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed everything on check-out day. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to inspire new reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
