Dads Place, striking mid island, privately owned home on the West end of the Island. The distance to oceanfront is only 12 rows. Interior amenities include WIFI, central heat & air, washer, dryer, microwave, coffee maker, ceiling fans, 1 color cable TV & DVD player. Exterior amenities include an outside shower, sundeck & covered porch. This is stringently a non smoking, no family pets home that is not equipped for EV charging. For 2023 Dad's Place will be linens supplied on weekly units only.

This vacation home is located in Sunset Beach. While the natural beauty of Ocean Isle Beach and Holden Beach can be enjoyed by anyone, those looking for an activity can check out Cherry Grove Pier.
Ingram Planetarium and Museum of Coastal Carolina are also worth visiting.

When to book a Wilmington, NC rental home & When to go:

  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer months are high season in Sunset Beach. To get the best value, shift your vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
  • Some property management companies offer special rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.

Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what is optimal for your trip.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to find a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking

Additional considerations:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your smartphone.

  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Document any damages to the property at check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute arises.
  • Be respectful. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Just before checking out, take a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property a final time and scan for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to compel future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review.
