How to get the best Wilmington, NC rental home experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • Summer months are high season in the Wilmington, NC area. To find the best rental for your budget, we highly recommend booking in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
  • The sooner you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your vacation home 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Hosts sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Wilmington, NC area visitor guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Wilmington, NC area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Planning and choosing the perfect Wilmington, NC rental:

  • Start by having your family select date ranges and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. 806 - 3 bedroom villa adjacent to Oyster Bay Golf Links in Sunset Beach has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before you book your home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you must book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.

Tips for a great stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
  • To make certain damages are not linked to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. text the rental manager immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible resource to find the best local scenic spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Hosts rely on great feedback to propel future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
