Strategies to get the very best Wilmington, NC vacation home experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • In the Wilmington, NC area, The earlier you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • Summer is high season in Oak Island. Book your Wilmington, NC rental property in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
  • Owners sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Many management companies supply Wilmington, NC area visitor guides which include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Wilmington, NC area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Make a plan and choose the right Wilmington, NC rental home:

  • To start, have your family agree to vacation dates and a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration you need. A Bit O'Heaven: Cheerful Home in Secluded Cul-de-sac with Ocean Views has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before you book the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask your host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • If there's a certain Wilmington, NC beach you are crazy about, browse properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .

Additional considerations:

  • Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • During arrival, note any damages to the property and immediately contact the owner. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property one final time and scan for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on good feedback to inspire more bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
