How to book the best Wilmington vacation rental experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer months are high season in Wilmington. Booking your Wilmington, NC vacation rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Some hosts offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Wilmington, NC area visitors guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Wilmington, NC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Filter your search:

  • Choose vacation dates and budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group requires. A Cheerful 2-bedroom cottage has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is usually available on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the property owner before you reserve the property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what bed configuration is right for your group.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or charges could be applied to your invoice.
  • If there's an individual Wilmington, NC attraction you simply love, browse properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.

Tips to have a wonderful stay:

  • Get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many problems.
  • Lock your rental while you're away. Keep your property safe!
  • Upon arrival, document any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your quiet neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would have never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • At departure, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to inspire future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
