Tips and Tricks to get the very best vacation property experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • In the Wilmington, NC area, The sooner your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation home up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Sunset Beach. Reserve your Wilmington, NC rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies typically offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides contain coupons for local tours and attractions.

Choosing and booking yourvacation home:

  • Begin by selecting trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. GOLF COURSE CONDO - POND VIEWS & FREE NETFLIX has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before reserving the rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is optimal for your vacation.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly property. Get specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking

More tips for your visit:

  • Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • To make sure damages are not linked to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon check in. Call the host right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all belongings. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a fantastic stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches. See for yourself by scanning the QR code and call Victory Beach Vacations at 910.458.0868 to book your Cape Fear getaway. Start making your memories today! —Grace Silipigni
