Tricks and tips to get the optimal rental experience:

Get the best rental value:

  • Summer is high season in the Wilmington, NC area. To get the best rental for your budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities.
  • The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your rental property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • Owners sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Wilmington, NC area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides have deals for local shops and restaurants.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • First and foremost, have your family agree to dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Beautiful, relaxing accommodations has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before you reserve your home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out what is optimal for your group.
  • If there's an individual Wilmington, NC beach you are enamored with, browse properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or may be applied to your invoice.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
  • To make sure damages are not linked to your visit, inspect for any problem areas when you arrive. text the rental manager immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
  • Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and look for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave a review! Hosts rely on great feedback to compel more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
