Tips and Tricks to get the perfect rental home experience:

When to reserve a Wilmington, NC rental & When to go:

Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • In the Wilmington, NC area, The sooner you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Property managers usually offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Look for your local Wilmington, NC area magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby tours and attractions.

Make a plan and choose the best Wilmington, NC vacation home:

  • If your group is bringing pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.

Tips to have a terrific stay:

  • Put the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your stay, record any problem areas during arrival. E-mail the rental manager immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your peaceful home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
  • When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a fantastic stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
