About this Property

Summary:
Bright, airy condo on third floor, one block from the beach. Savor two balconies: one facing east towards the ocean, the other facing west for gorgeous sunsets. We’re at the North end of the island, right by the entrance to Freeman Park, where you can drive your 4-wheel drive car onto the beach. Both bedrooms have impressive vistas; the master looks over the ocean, the guest looks over the marsh. It’s a two min. walk to the beach but there’s a pool right downstairs if you’re feeling lazy :)

The Space:
Boho-beachy furnishings make this condo unique and comfortable. We have two longboard surfboards for guest use (at your own risk). The two balconies allow for a invigorating cross breeze through the apartment when it’s cool enough to have the doors open. Listen to the ocean on the front balcony in the evening with a glass of wine, or savor a cup of coffee in the morning over-looking the marsh from the back balcony. Or stay cool in the cozy A/C, perhaps watching tv and all the streaming services available with our system and high-speed wifi. We have a full kitchen should you want to prepare, but there are amazing eateries close by within the downtown of Carolina Beach.

The Neighborhood:
We are at the North end of the island, a half a block away from the entrance to Freeman Park.
Freeman Park is a historic location where you can drive onto the beach with your 4-wheel drive car, and bring your dog (on-leash) all year round.
The ocean is a block away, and beach access is very painless to get to, with one of many entrances located right beside the High Tide Parlor.
We’re a mile from downtown Carolina Beach where you will find a ton of eateries, bars, and stores.

Getting Around:
There are two parking spaces for our guests. If you have a four-wheel drive car, you can drive onto the beach at Freeman Park. If you prefer to bicycle or use a golf cart while you’re here, there are many places to rent bicycles in town. Please let your team at Going Coastal know if you need recommendations.

Other Things to Note:
Please note there are three flights of stairs to enter the condo.

We are also pet friendly with an additional $50 fee. Please let us know before arriving

We also supply the following for each property:
A starter kit of one roll of toilet paper per bathroom, one roll of paper towels, a trash bag, and dish soap. We also supply laundered bed linens, comforters, and 1 bathing towel and wash cloth per person. We do not supply any beach gear or beach towel. We have great rental companies on the island we would be more than happy to share the info with you. We also do not supply laundry detergent, body soap or shampoo/conditioner as we find everybody has their own preferences for these =) Please review our home rules prior to your stay

Interaction with Guests:
We are always available for questions or concerns via Airbnb messenger. Please call for emergencies

Our top Rental booking tips:

Sticking to your rental budget:

  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Book your Wilmington, NC vacation home in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers typically offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Wilmington, NC area visitor guide magazines which often include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Wilmington, NC area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Finding the perfect rental:

  • Select dates and budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. BOHO at The Beach, with Ocean & Marsh View has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Wilmington, NC rental home search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking websites. If not, email or call the host before you book the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what configuration is right for your vacation family.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or costs applied to your invoice.
  • If there's a certain Wilmington, NC attraction you are crazy about, browse homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Advice for a smooth stay:

  • Get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of difficulties.
  • Lock your rental home while you're out. Keep your property safe!
  • Document any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if there is a dispute.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible source for finding the best local scenic spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a excellent time? Many rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
