How to find the best vacation home experience:

Get the best value:

  • Summer months are high season in the Wilmington, NC area. To book the largest vacation home for your budget, we highly recommend booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • In the Wilmington, NC area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Wilmington, NC area travel guide magazines which often include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Filter your search:

  • Begin by choosing your the best vacation week and a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Wrightsville Beach Oceanfront Penthouse - Station One - pool, tennis, beach has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the property management company before you book the home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine what bed configuration is best for your vacation family.
  • Looking for particular amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
  • Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask your host about pets before booking.

Tips to have a wonderful stay:

  • Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Note any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if a dispute is filed.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your rental home while you are out. Keep your property safe!
  • Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on great feedback to inspire future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
