Carolina Beach rental property booking tips and tricks:

Money saving strategies:

  • Summertime is high season in the Wilmington, NC area. Reserving a rental home in the Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
  • The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • Some hosts offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Look for your local Wilmington, NC area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides contain coupons for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Begin by selecting a vacation week and a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Family Ocean-View Retreat 4BR\/3BA, Like Home! has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible online. Otherwise, reach out to the property manager before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is suitable for your vacation.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
  • Some properties allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the owner about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

Additional considerations:

  • Add the property manager's contact info to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • To make certain that no damages are linked to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas during check in. Get in touch with the property manager immediately to document any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few problems.
  • Respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Leave a review! Property managers rely on great feedback to compel future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
