Getting the best vacation rental experience:

Sticking to a spending plan:

  • June, July, and August are high season in Wrightsville Beach. To book the largest rental home within your budget, we recommend booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Wilmington, NC attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • In the Wilmington, NC area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • Some hosts offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites typically offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Wilmington, NC area travel guide magazines which include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Wilmington, NC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning and choosing the rightrental home:

  • To start, have your family select dates and a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your group requires. Gorgeous 6 bedroom house - two kitchens, dining rooms, living rooms! has 6 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property management company before reserving your rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is suitable for your family.
  • If there's an individual Wilmington, NC beach you are crazy about, search for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or might be applied to your invoice.

More tips for your visit:

  • Add the host's phone number to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Make a record of any issues with the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if damages are assessed.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Upon check-out, take a walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and scan for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on great feedback to stimulate future bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
