  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
  • Booking websites usually offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.

  • Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the host about your furry family members before booking.

More tips for your visit:

  • We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of problems.
  • Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Note any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if a dispute is filed.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Leave a review! Property managers rely on good reviews to inspire more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
