Our top Wilmington, NC rental home tips:

Cost saving strategies:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To find the best value, try shifting your family's Wilmington, NC trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer excellent temperatures, , and reduced traffic.
  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property management companies offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Property managers usually offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Look for your local Wilmington, NC visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guides contain deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • First, have your group decide on vacation dates and a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration you need. \"No Holden Back\" Luxury 2nd Row Home, 4 Bedrooms \/ 3.5 Bathrooms has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible online. If not, email or call the host before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish which bed configuration is optimal for your group.
  • If there's a particular Wilmington, NC destination you are crazy about, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or charges might be applied to your contract.

Additional considerations:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your phone.
  • Record any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if there is a dispute.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible resource to find the best local beaches.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Re-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed everything on check-out day. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a terrific time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
