Ocean Isle Beach has a lot going for it; it's the PERFECT beach and the Seawitch is front row! Located close to golf courses, outlet malls, musical entertainment, great seafood, and some of the most spectacular sunsets this side of the Mississippi! Come spend a long weekend or summer week in our comfortable bungalow right on the water where you can sit on the front porch and watch the waves roll in.

This Ocean Front Cottage on OIB is located where the island is the least busy but the pier, puttputt, stores and eateries are a short walk away.

The 'Seawitch', aptly named, because that is what my grandmother said she looked like as she came up out of the water from a swim, is a impressive, family aligned, lovingly cared for, bungalow style OCEAN FRONT PROPERTY at Ocean Isle Beach, NC.

This five bedroom bungalow has two bedrooms with one queen-sized bed each, two bedrooms with one queen and one double bed, and one bedroom with two double beds each for a total capacity of 16 plus a infant bed in one of the rooms with two doubles. We do not offer linen service, but we recommend that if you want book linens to contact Angie's Linens at Ocean Isle Beach, NC at 910-575-2788. Book early they are only open M-F 8-6. Or cut your price by bringing your own bed linens and towels.

Each year we do renovations or improvements in the spring. We upgrade the beds and bedspreads on a rotating basis every year, we newly refreshed all of the bathrooms and modernized the kitchen. We also put in a new heating and a/c unit, replacing the ductwork, and redoing the ceilings. We also added new floor for the main part of the home leaving the bedrooms carpeted to keep the sand out of your bed. Last spring we tore down the old pier/deck area and added a new one and we painted the home, updated one of the shower/tubs, and added a new dining room table which seats at least nine. This summer we added new living room furnishings which we LOVE. We also upgraded the fireplace with a new electric unit you can turn on for additional heat or just turn on the flame for ambiance. (We decorate over the holidays!) We complete projects every year to keep the place looking nice and up to date. Next year it is a new ocean side glass door and a new shower in the bathroom between the rooms with single queen beds. Finally, we will be able to take showers in there without getting iced out when someone turns on water somewhere else!

Constructed in 1979 with the 'old style' beach bungalow in mind, the kitchen, dining area and the living room are in the middle and the bedrooms on the sides of the home. The bungalow has three bathrooms upstairs, a outside enclosed shower downstairs, and a place to rinse off on the pier.

The real luxury of the home though is the front porch and deck area with its rocking chairs, picnic table, and loungers. Feel the ocean breezes flow over you as your cares slip away. Run off the beach and straight up to your bungalow, take a shower in the outside shower, and sit in a rocking chair until you dry off from your swim. The clothes line is usually seen with towels and bathing suits flapping in the wind.

Make yourself some 'Frogmore Stew', throw it out on some newspapers on the enormous dining room table and tell the kids to dig in. Hang up some event lights and dance on the deck to some Jimmy Buffett as the sun sets in the distance. This is the bungalow to take you back to a simpler time!

This home is well supplied with items that many of the units do not include. The kitchen is entirely outfitted with enough dishes, glasses, silverware, pots, pans, etc. to feed huge family. My dad thought he was Emeril so you will find all kinds of gadgets in the kitchen drawers. We also have books, games, and movies scattered around in different drawers/places for you to borrow during your stay.

For all you movie buffs and sports enthusiasts, you can sit in the living room and savor movies or sports on the sizable HDTV complete with BlueRay DVD Player and surround sound. Look out the window and watch the ocean instead of the commercials!

Wireless Internet and Time Warner/Spectrum Cable are included. There is a flatscreen TV and cable in every bedroom.

Our family has been so spoiled by this beach home that to go anywhere else is a letdown. The location is ideal, you will feel a anxiety let down as you cross over the bridge to the island and transition to 'island time'.

Staying at the family friendly OIB is the BEST place to be, but if you long for some nighttime life and outlet shopping, you are only a few mins. away. Myrtle Beach is only 20 - 30 mins. south, and Wilmington 45 mins. north on Hwy 17. Calabash is known for the best seafood in the nation and it is a mere 10 mins. away. If you want to catch a movie, you can head to North Myrtle Beach. Golfers, there are golf courses all around you. Adventurers you can head out to The Swamp Park on Airport Road to go on a guided ATV or Swamp boat tour or even Zip Line. Historic Southport, NC is only 35 mins. away.

Booking the best rental experience:

Getting the best rental home value:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To find the best value, shift your trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property management companies usually offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Wilmington, NC area travel guide magazines which include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Filter your search:

  • First, have your group choose vacation dates and a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Ocean Front Home with Spectacular Views has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Wilmington, NC vacation rental search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally available online. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before booking your home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

Have a wonderful stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
  • To make certain damages are not attributed to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas when you arrive. Make contact with the property manager immediately to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your peaceful home life. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Leave a review! Hosts rely on good reviews to compel new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
