About this Property

  • Sleeps 8
  • 3 Bedrooms
  • 2 Bathrooms
  • Private vacation home
  • Approximately 1700 square feet

Welcome to our beach home! This is our vacation home and we stay here often with our friends and family. We keep it as nice and clean as possible, and are always upgrading. We have 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms with 3 King beds and two twin beds, all linens supplied. We have an office with everything you need to work from The Beach! Monitor, printer, shredder, paper, etc. Our 1700 sf home is thoroughly cleaned after each guest.

Our House has a great layout for multiple families. The master bedroom is on one side of the home and the other bedrooms and bathroom are on the other side of the home. The humongous family room is in the middle. The covered front patio is great to sit in the shade with a drink and the fans running to keep you cool. There is also a gate to keep your dog out there with you. The deck in the back is good for getting some sun.

Savor impressive the sunrises and sunsets on the unique South facing Oak Island. Let your only worry in the world be, 'is the tide gonna reach my chair' -Zac Brown Band

Bringing your boat? The public water access is just a few blocks over. The driveway is big enough to store your boat trailer, or there’s a public lot by the water access. We have beach chairs, beach towels, body boards, and a cooler for you to use. If it rains on your beach vacation don’t worry our family room comfortably seats 8+ to watch a movie! There are plenty of games for the kids and the adults. There’s a covered patio in the front and a sizable open deck in the back.

The location is exceptional! About a 1/2 mile to the beach, 1/2 block from the Intracoastal Waterway, a 3 blocks from the grocery store, ice cream, eateries, shopping, miniature golf, and everything Oak Island has to offer. Oak Island has a great modest town feel with only a couple 'chain' businesses. The vast majority of stores and eateries are locally owned modest business. Please visit as many as you can, you will not be disappointed.

Historic Southport is a short 20 min. drive to savor the southern appeal, shopping, and eateries. Hop on a ferry to elegant Bald Head Island. Or the car ferry will take you to Fort Fisher, and then a short drive to Wilmington.

I will provide you with a very modest amount of necessities in case you check in late and cannot get to the store until the following day (paper towels, toilet paper, laundry detergent, dishwasher detergent, trash bags, etc). This is just a starter pack, not enough for your entire stay.

Well behaved dogs are welcome - if caged at nighttime and when you are gone. Dogs are NOT allowed on the furnishings or in the beds! You must bring your own cage. There will be a one time $150.00 pet fee, max 2 dogs. Sorry, no cats or any other animals allowed. The dog rules MUST be followed. If your dog is not well behaved, this might not be the best place to bring your furry friend.

For everybody's safety and security we have video surveillance on the outside of the building - nothing inside.

Strategies for getting the perfect Oak Island rental experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • June, July, and August are high season in the Wilmington, NC area. To get the best value, change your family's Wilmington, NC trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant weather, , and reduced traffic.
  • The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation property up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property management companies often offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Often, property management companies supply Wilmington, NC area travel guides that include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Selecting and booking the rightvacation home:

  • Choose a group leader, choose your vacation dates, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your group needs. Knee Deep in the Water Somewhere has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the host before you book the rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or costs could be applied to your agreement.

Advice for a great stay:

  • Be sure you get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
  • Note any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if there is a dispute.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your quiet neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental while you're out and about. Protect your property!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a great vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
