You can't beat the 180 degree marsh vistas, all the amenities it provides (like an elevator), and the location! You'll feel like you're miles away in your own private heaven while only being about half a mile to Caswell Beach access point and less than a mile to the Oak Island Lighthouse.

Everything has been meticulously designed at Miss Rumphius by the Sea, including the reverse floor plan that showcases the dramatic vistas from the main living spaces! The broad wall of windows and vaulted ceilings are utterly extraordinary and allow an abundance of natural light to flow into the space. The great room is well-appointed with a gas fireplace, huge flatscreen TV, comfortable seating, and constructed-in bookshelves. The formal dining area brings the space together with a enormous table with seating for up to 8. There's additional seating at the kitchen bar as well.

Speaking of the kitchen, it's definitely elegant! There's everything you can imagine needing during your stay — from the stainless steel appliances to the standing mixer, food processor, panini press, waffle maker, and Keurig. Extra bonuses on this level include a half bath, central vacuum system for painless clean-ups, cavernous laundry room with a sink, and a telescope for stargazing at nighttime.

Another one of the top highlights of this property is the 4 porches — 2 covered porches on the ocean side with seating and 2 covered porches on the saltmarsh side. Just imagine sitting on the covered porch appreciating your morning coffee as the coastal wildlife awakes to a new day or experiencing the pretty view over evening beverages while the sunsets over Southport and Bald Head Island in the distance!

The airy ambiance extends into the master bedroom located off of the kitchen! In what feels like a secluded getaway away from it all, you'll find a comfortable king-size bed, a bespoke constructed-in desk area with flatscreen TV, and a walk-in closet. The roomy ensuite bathroom features a double vanity and shower with a rain showerhead and tiled bench.

Heading downstairs, you're welcomed into a cozy second living room with direct access to one of the covered porches, ample seating, a mini-refrigerator, and a flatscreen TV. You'll find all three guest bedrooms on this level, each complete with a flatscreen TV and our opulent linens. The king guest bedroom and queen guest bedroom on this floor are connected by an extended Jack and Jill bathroom with a tub/shower combination. And, the last bedroom is superb for the kids or a family with the triple bunk bed and a queen-size bed! This bedroom does have a pretty ensuite bathroom with a tub/shower combination.

The amenities don't stop here; there are really more than we can list — like the elevator that comes in handy to move your belongings in and out of the home or for those who may have difficulties with stairs. Outside you will find a sizable fenced-in backyard, shower with hot and cold water, gas grille, and beach gear available for your use (like chairs and a wagon).

Please Note: Linens are supplied with your reservation and contain the following: flat and fitted bed sheets, pillowcases, bath towels, hand towels, and washcloths.

We know you want to relax without any stops at the store when you get to the island. To get you started, we provide a welcome kit that includes trash bags, paper towels, toilet paper, dishwasher pod, washing machine pod, dishwashing soap, hand soap at every sink, bath soap, and shampoo/conditioner.

As you will find when selecting dates on the calendar, there are minimum stay requirements based on the season. There is a 7 nighttime minimum with a mandatory Saturday to Saturday rental pattern in the peak summer months, and there is more flexibility in the slower seasons.
