Each unit has two bedrooms, one bathroom, and sleeps six guests (12 total). Savor sunrises and sunsets on the humongous deck watching the waves and the occasional dolphins. See our other listings if you only need a single unit.

Located on the southern end of North Carolina’s beautiful coastline, the Town of Oak Island offers nearly 10 miles of beachfront along the 12 mile long Oak Island, from which it derives its name. The island itself is marked by the Atlantic Ocean to the south, and the Intracoastal Waterway (ICW) to the north.

With its unique southward facing shoreline, beachgoers can savor impressive vistas of both sunrise and sunset over the ocean, all from the same stretch of sand! Experiencing these awe-inspiring vistas are no challenge either; with well over 100 complimentary public accesses to the beach and the ICW, Oak Island offers more accessibility to our greatest natural resource than any other coastal Town in the state of North Carolina!
-No stepping on dunes. There is a $500 fine if you do.

-If your stay includes Tuesday nighttime or Friday nighttime, you agree to roll out the wheeled trash bin to the street so it can be picked up the following morning.

How to book the best Wilmington, NC vacation property experience:

Find your perfect vacation home:

  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • To get the best value, try shifting your family's Wilmington, NC vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Some property managers offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Property managers typically offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Wilmington, NC area visitor guide magazines that include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Choose a group leader, choose your dates, and choose a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Oak Island Oceanfront West Beach Entire House has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the property owner before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a rental that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.

More considerations:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • To make certain no damages are linked to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas when you arrive. Call the rental manager immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your peaceful home life. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a great time? Most rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
