Tips to get the best Wilmington, NC vacation home experience:

When to visit Holden Beach & When to reserve a Holden Beach rental home:

  • June, July, and August are high season in the Wilmington, NC area. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring is a great way to save on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
  • In the Wilmington, NC area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Booking your rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
  • Some hosts offer promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Wilmington, NC area visitor guide magazines that include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Wilmington, NC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Selecting and booking the rightrental:

  • First and foremost, have your group choose dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Ocean Views at Pelican View has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Wilmington, NC rental home search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before you reserve the property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what is suitable for your group.
  • If there's a specific Wilmington, NC attraction you crave, look for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking
  • Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property management company about your furry family members before booking.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make certain that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, note any problem areas when you arrive. message the host right away to document any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few problems.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your peaceful home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a fantastic stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
