Booking the best Ocean Isle Beach vacation rental experience:

How to get the best value:

  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Reserve your rental property in the Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Wilmington, NC visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides contain coupons for nearby shops and restaurants.

How to pick the best rental in the Wilmington, NC area:

  • Choose vacation week and maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Oceanfront - Renovated 4Bd Home - Closest Beach Access to Ocean Isle - has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property management company before you reserve the property. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.
  • If there's a certain Wilmington, NC destination you long to visit, keep an eye out for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.

Tips to have a smooth stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of concerns.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • To make certain damages are not attributed to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas during arrival. Contact the property manager immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on great feedback to drive more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
