"The Compass" is located in the East Beach area of Oak Island, just 1.5 miles from Oak Island Golf Club. It has a striking covered porch and an open deck with a table, chairs, rockers, and an ocean view. It is just a short walk to direct beach access at the end of the street. The inside is open and comfortable with many amenities such as a completely equipped kitchen and plenty of activities such as books, games, and puzzles. As you come in from a day at the beach, there is an enclosed outside shower on the ground level with a convenient dressing area. All rooms are located on the upper level, including the kitchen, dining area, living room, laundry closet, three bedrooms, and two full bathrooms.

Located near the beach, this vacation home is in Yaupon Beach, a neighborhood in Oak Island. Smith Island Museum of History and Franklin Square Gallery are cultural highlights, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at Oak Island Golf Club and Founders Club at St. James Plantation. North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher and North Carolina Maritime Museum at Southport are also worth visiting.
