Wilmington, NC rental property booking tips and tricks:

Finding the best rental value:

  • Summer months are high season in the Wilmington, NC area. Booking your Wilmington, NC vacation rental in Fall or Spring months is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
  • The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation home 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Many management companies supply Wilmington, NC area visitor guide magazines which include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Selecting the perfect vacation home in Southport:

  • Select your vacation week and maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Stay aboard a Beautiful Hunter 41 Sailboat has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the property management company before reserving your rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out what is best for your vacation family.
  • Does your group require unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
  • If your family is bringing pets, you will need a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.

Know before you go:

  • Add the owner's information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Note any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific source for finding the best local attractions.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental while you are out. Keep your property safe!
  • Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed everything at check-out. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property one final time and scan for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to stimulate more bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
