Booking the best Wilmington, NC rental experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • Booking in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
  • The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation home up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property managers usually offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitors guides contain coupons for nearby accommodations and attractions.

Finding the perfect vacation rental in the Wilmington, NC area:

  • Begin by selecting trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Tranquil Harbor: Treetop Gem with Private Dock and Canal Views, has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is commonly available on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the host before booking your home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a property that allows animals. Get information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Take a copy of the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your . We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • At Check-in, note any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your peace. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and scan for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a fantastic stay? Most rental managers make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
