How to get the best Wilmington, NC rental home experience:

Find your perfect vacation home:

  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are high season in the Wilmington, NC area. To get the best value, try shifting your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property managers typically offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines have money saving offers on local accommodations, tours and attractions.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Select your vacation week and budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Welcome to Marsh Harbour-Pinnacle Suite has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the host before you reserve the property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine what is suitable for your vacation group.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly rental. Request details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
  • If there's a specific Wilmington, NC destination you crave, keep an eye out for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

More considerations:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your smartphone.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • During check-in, document any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
  • Be respectful. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a terrific time? Most rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
