Tips and Tricks to get the optimal Wilmington, NC vacation property experience:

Finding your perfect rental home:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of NC. To find the best value, consider changing your vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warm weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
  • In the Wilmington, NC area, The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Reserving your vacation property up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Wilmington, NC area visitors guides that include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Start by having your group agree to trip dates and a max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. 1st Floor 2 BR Villa - Beautiful Views - (RC1401) has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before booking the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine what is suitable for your vacation.
  • If there's a particular Wilmington, NC attraction you crave, look for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

Advice for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make sure that damages are not attributed to your visit, make a record of any problem areas during check in. Speak to the rental manager right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental while you're out and about. Protect your property!
  • Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a fantastic vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches. See for yourself by scanning the QR code and call Victory Beach Vacations at 910.458.0868 to book your Cape Fear getaway. Start making your memories today! —Grace Silipigni
