Tips and Tricks to get the very best vacation home experience:

Getting the best rental home value:

  • In the Wilmington, NC area, The sooner your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked early. Booking your rental property up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • Summer time is high season in the Wilmington, NC area. Book your Wilmington, NC rental home in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.

You can also find Wilmington, NC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Planning, picking, and booking the bestvacation home:

  • Start by having your group agree to the best dates and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Historic Carolina Beach Cottage Across from Oceanfront & Screened Porch has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally available on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property manager before reserving the home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Some properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.

  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of issues.
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Upon check-in, note any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Just before checking out, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget anything. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a wonderful stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
