Tricks and tips for getting the best Ocean Isle Beach vacation rental experience:

When to visit Ocean Isle Beach & When to book:

  • Summer time is high season in Ocean Isle Beach. To book the best rental within budget, we recommend booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Wilmington, NC restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Wilmington, NC area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides have discounts for local tours and attractions.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Start by having your group select vacation dates and a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. 5 BDRM Beach House - Everything You'll Need, 5\/15-8\/31 Min.1 wk, Sun to Sun! has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Wilmington, NC vacation rental search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property management company before you reserve the home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
  • If your group is bringing pets, you will need a pet-friendly property. Request information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your . Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • To make sure no damages are linked to your family's stay, record any problem areas during check in. text the rental manager immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your home life. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your rental while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave feedback! Hosts rely on good reviews to stimulate future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
