Other things to note
PLEASE NOTE:
The ice maker in the freezer does not work. The freezer will be outfitted with a bag of ice upon arrival.

The carpet is original to the home (2013) and does have some stains. We clean it at the end of each summer.

The two fiberglass tub/showers have staining near the drains. The floor of the showers dip in those spots, resulting in standing water, which stains the fiberglass. They are not dirty.

The lighting over the master tub looks normal, but in many cases in can make the tub water appear with a green tint. I promise the water is not green!

How to get the best rental home experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. To book the largest vacation home within your budget, we recommend booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property management companies often offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Wilmington, NC area visitors guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Wilmington, NC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Begin by selecting your trip dates and a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Bright Home on a Private Street has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking websites. If not, call the property owner before booking the vacation property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the owner about pets before booking.
  • Does your group require unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Add the host's contact info to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
  • Record any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your quiet neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a great stay? Many rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
