Cost saving strategies:

  • In the Wilmington, NC area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked early. Reserving your rental home 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • Summer months are high season in Carolina Beach. Booking your Wilmington, NC vacation rental in the Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Look for your local Wilmington, NC area magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines have discounts for local accommodations, tours and attractions.

How to choose the perfect vacation home in the Wilmington, NC area:

  • First and foremost, have your family choose trip dates and a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration you need. Brand New Construction w elevator and pet friendly has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available online. If not, email or call the property management company before reserving your rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what is right for your vacation group.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you must book a property that allows animals. Request information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
  • Is your family looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Have a fantastic stay:

  • Get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your vacation home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Upon arrival, record any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Leave feedback! Hosts rely on great feedback to compel more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
