How to find the best Wilmington, NC rental experience:

How to get the best value:

  • Summer months are high season in the Wilmington, NC area. To get the best value, shift your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • In the Wilmington, NC area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Booking websites usually offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Wilmington, NC visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines contain deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.

Planning and choosing yourrental home:

  • Choose a group leader, choose your vacation dates, and select a max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Water front 4 BDR canal house????. Linens, kayaks, bikes included!???? Come fishing???? has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Wilmington, NC rentals search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally available online. Otherwise, call the property manager before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You will need to establish what bed configuration is right for your vacation group.
  • If there's a certain Wilmington, NC attraction you simply love, browse rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts charge additional pet fees.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
  • At Check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific resource to find the best local scenic spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed everything at check-out. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a terrific vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your property and/or host was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
