Tips and Tricks to get the best Wilmington, NC vacation home experience:

When to visit Ocean Isle Beach & When to book:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Ocean Isle Beach. Reserve your Wilmington, NC rental in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation property up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
  • Property management companies typically offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Wilmington, NC area visitor guides which often include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Wilmington, NC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Planning and choosing the perfectvacation home:

  • Select a group lead, choose your trip dates, and select a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Canal Home in the heart of OIB has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available online. If not, call the property owner before you reserve your home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out what is best for your vacation group.
  • Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property management company about pet restrictions before booking.

During your stay:

  • Add the owner's information to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Document any damages to the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if damages are assessed.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're away. Keep your property safe!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Leave a review! Property owners rely on great ratings to drive more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
