Wilmington, NC vacation rental booking tips and tricks:

When to book & When to go:

  • Summer months are high season in the Wilmington, NC area. To get the most suitable rental home within your budget, we suggest booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • The sooner your group can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • Some property management companies offer special rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Wilmington, NC area visitors guides that include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to pick the perfect vacation home in the Wilmington, NC area:

  • Select a designated group leader, select your dates, and choose a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your family needs. CB House (Bike Trail, Brewery, Boardwalk, Park) has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before reserving the rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
  • Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.

Have a great stay:

  • Get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your .
  • Document any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if a dispute arises.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific source for finding the best local beaches.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected everything. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on good reviews to compel new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
