How to book the best Wilmington, NC rental home experience:

When to visit Wrightsville Beach & When to reserve a rental home:

  • In the Wilmington, NC area, The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Booking your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Booking in Fall or Spring months is a good way to save on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Many property management companies supply Wilmington, NC area travel guides which will include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Wilmington, NC visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Make a plan and choose your prefectrental home:

  • Start by choosing your trip dates and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Classic beach cottage on beautiful Wrightsville Beach. 4 Bedrooms, 3 Baths has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Wilmington, NC rentals search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the property management company before you book the property. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out which bed configuration is suitable for your vacation.
  • Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

More tips for your visit:

  • Get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of problems.
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • To ensure that no damages are attributed to your visit, make note of any problem areas during arrival. Contact the host immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at departure. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a fantastic vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or host was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
