About this Property

General summary;

"Vitamin Sea Suites" suite "2 managed by Dale and Salt Water Real may be just the home away from home you are looking for! This 1st floor one bed/one bath apartment is just steps from our sandy shores, a brief walk to downtown CB, and all the sea sights, sounds, and experiences you are looking for!

The space;

Pleasure Island has become a RAPIDLY increasing holiday destination for the entirety of the East coast and beyond for many reasons. Because we are in fact a true island, “overcrowding” isn’t in of itself a tremendous issue. Limited parking and available housing will always create a calming “max capacity” that will always give a comfortable (and healthy) occupancy level and ambience that, despite the “hordes”, will always leave bountiful complimentary space for those looking for a bit more “distancing” and privacy. It’s also what is making the real unit market shoot through the roof! It’s an AMAZING place to visit, live, and never leave!

The suite is located in the heart of Carolina Beach and walking distance to downtown and everything that is has to offer. In Carolina Beach you’ve got the boardwalk, eateries, and local stores of all kinds. If you like adventures, the marina is also there where you can take an offshore fishing trip, diving excursion, or event boat out for a sunset sail. Camping more your thing? Come with the 4X4 and drive (and camp) on the beach at Freeman Park, located on the North End of the island. You can also head down to Kure Beach and fish directly off their fishing pier compete with bait, tackles, and more! The Carolina Beach Lake is close by, hosting a weekly Farmer’s Market every Saturday, FIREWORKS every Thursday, and outdoor summer movies on Sunday’s (on a sizable inflatable screen in the middle of the lake!). We welcome you to sit back, relax and appreciate yourselves because that's exactly what the beach is for! * (due to Covid, please be prepared for periodic deviations from our usually scheduled events).

These suites are a mixture of the original “period” construction and old-world charisma, a kiss of shabby-chic modernity, and today’s technology because hey, there’s got to be something for everybody! Each suite has its own distinct traits, quirks, and characteristics. Above all else, it should feel like your “home away from home” while visiting with us on our Island!

The entry to this 1 bedroom/1 bath suite opens up into a huge, freshly furbished family room combined with an open dining area and kitchen. Courtesy organic soap and shampoo are left in the bathroom of each suite as well as a (1) starter roll of TP, a (1) garbage bag, dish soap, and a sponge in each kitchen. *It is important to note that it is NOT an owner’s job to give personal family items for visitors. From toiletries and linens, to community food stuffs and condiments, It is ESPECIALLY important during this current climate for any used items of another to be discarded before our new visitors arrive to ensure an optimally hygienic space

There's ONE QUEEN/ONE TWIN bed on site because we want all of our visitors to be inviting when it comes time to recharge. Remember, linens are NOT supplied in order to keep our prices low. You can bring them from home with you, buy them locally, or rent them (refer to Low Tide Linens & Units). If renting, please let Low Tide know that you are a guest of SWRE as they will give you with an additional 10% discount!

There is a TV (with approx. 25 channels through the Charter Spectrum cable service or application) along with a WIFI computer connection for when it's time to sit back and savor some movies or shows after a long day at the beach! Come with a Fire Stick, Apple TV, Laptop w/ HDMI cable or other such casting device if looking to ensure all of the tech comforts from home are available during your stay!

We equip each suite with its own books, games, and misc. accessories to help cover the basis for our visitors to enjoy themselves in rain or shine. Sometimes however, these items are removed from the suite and not replaced and we do not realize it (tsk tsk!). If you notice something we’ve bragged about missing please let us know!

Guest access;

The SUITE: Guests have full access to their own private SUITE along with a respective outdoor space, patio, or balcony. Each suite can vary slightly in archetype but what’s private for each guest or is a common area for all to share IS comfortably recognizable.

PARKING: Suites 2,3 and 4 will have access to (1) ONE ASSIGNED parking space. The parking lot for suite 2 is in the main lot. Suite 3 and 4 should take a side street and park atop the unit. All spaces have signs with the corresponding suite # on it. As the tons are self-enforced, it is within a visitors right to have any car towed that is parked in their assigned space so please park ONLY in your respective spot. Any additional community parking spaces would have availability on a first come fist serve basis. We do not recommend any lot or proprietor in particular.

Neighborhood overview;

Pleasure Island is a coastal barrier island in Southeastern North Carolina, USA just south of the City of Wilmington. Pleasure Island is located within Federal Point Township, in New Hanover County. The coastal resort towns of Carolina Beach and Kure Beach, as well as the annexed communities of Wilmington Beach and Hanby Beach are located on the island.

The building itself is one row away from the sea. The unit is set two blocks from down town Carolina Beach with its stores, activities and dining. There are fireworks during the summer every Thursday nighttime, Movies at the lake each Sunday nighttime, and local fairs around the lake each Saturday morning (refer to carolinabeach.org for additional info!). Carolina Beach is a mix of friendly locals, snowbirds, and visitors all looking to hideaway the inland and enjoy the sand, surf, and sun. We really have an marvelous community!

Carolina Beach and the surrounding neighborhoods offer an array of sights and activities to enjoy while here. Some of these examples are (but not limited to) a subtle beach hike through Carolina Beach State Park, Fishing on the Kure Beach Pier, kayaking to one of the many islands surrounding the Intracoastal Waterway, watching canons blast during a historical reenactment at the Fort Fisher State Historic Site, or petting some Sting Rays at the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher. This doesn’t even include the aweing scenery of Airlie Gardens, and our very own battleship (USS NC) in Wilmington! Perhaps more peaceful and less “experience” is your speed? Our own local Brewery (Good Hops) along with a round of Frisbee golf may be what the doctor ordered!

Getting around;

There isn’t anywhere or anything on our Island that isn’t accessible with foot power. Downtown Carolina Beach has a number of vendors (such as Pleasure Island Units @ 2 N Lake Park Blvd Carolina Beach NC 28428 (golf carts) and Tony Silvagni’s Surf School @ 107 Charlotte ave Carolina Beach NC 28428 (bicycles, paddleboards, surfboards, kayaks) for rent as an alternative to walking or driving. Taxi’s (local golf cart taxi’s) and Uber’s are also generally available for an assist when needed as well throughout the island! You can catch a Ferry to Southport in Kure Beach @ 2422 Fort Fisher Blvd S Kure Beach which leads to another ferry to Bald Head Island where NO CARS are allowed at all!

After all, you won’t catch many locals going OTB! (Over The Bridge). Everything you need is right here!

Other things to note;

•Salt Water Real Estate has partnered with the absolute most striking vendors our Island has to offer to help ensure visitors can spend more time appreciating themselves and less time researching! Our partners include the Tony Silvagni Surf School for professional surf lessons, bicycle, umbrella, and chair units, Salty Dog Yoga, Squared Away Cleaning and Maintenance, TNL Kleans, and Low Tide Linen Units who provides all visitors of SWRE an added 10% off. Our partners support visitors of Salt Water Real Estate with the highest caliber of local services for extremely competitive and oft discounted pricing. They all contribute to the “Salt Water” experience and we <3 them for it!

•ALL suites are non-smoking (including vaping) and a heavy cleaning/repair charge can result if not adhered to. This includes porches, decks, balconies, and walkways. Please smoke well away from any SWRE unit unless willing to risk the potential loss of deposit or more.

•Linens (sheets, towels, pillowcases, etc.) are NOT part of the suite rental. Pillows and basic comforters ARE included. Please refer to the linens chart supplied in the renting site description section for a unit’s bed sizes and plan in advance accordingly. We partner with “Low Tide Linens & Units” for any visitors looking to rent a linen package as opposed to bringing or buying your own. Although any hyper link will be blocked by this site, a simple web search can yield their contact information. They will deliver directly into the suite in advance of your stay! Mention that you are staying with SALT WATER REAL ESTATE and receive an additional 10% off of any rentable items!

• SWRE contractual peaceful hours begin at 9:00pm EST. Town ordinance may accept more latitude with regards to noise (11:00pm) but our expectations are to help ensure all visitors, locals, and neighbors alike have an enchanting experience.

•NO BBQing on ANY decks or porches. This is a massive fire hazard and is fineable by the town (as is removing batteries from any smoke or co2 alarms). We work extremely hard to keep all of our visitors safe, and sometimes that takes teamwork!

•Please always consider TRAVEL INSURANCE from your respective renting site or vendor to help protect your costs in case of inclement weather or last-min. travel complications (court, illness, etc.). These items are NOT returnable scenarios unless the unit itself is compromised. If that does happen, we will do our absolute most great to find you alternative housing.

Money Saving Strategies

  • Search for the official tourism bureau where you want to travel. Many official tourism bureaus will send you promotional travel guides with promotions for property management companies, restaurants and activities. These guides may provide a good start to your rental search.
  • Flexible about when you might travel? Off-peak times offer up sizable markdowns.
  • Are you a military veteran? Quite a few vacation rental companies offer price reductions to vets and active-duty forces. Be sure to check with property owner to see if your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced price.
  • Some vacation rentals are basically catered to specific guests, whether it is downtown homes with pier passes, city-center condos with walkable access to restaurants or waterfront homes that have their own windsurfing launching areas. If there's a particular Wilmington, NC atteaction that you just love, be on the lookout for rentals that cater especially to you.
  • Give thought to purchasing trip insurance along with your rental contract. Trip insurance, which generally costs somewhere between 1% - 5% of the basic term rate, provides visitors reimbursement of their rental expenses for any nights missed as a result of medical emergencies or hurricanes, in addition to ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unforeseen motel stay or extra gas. Trip insurance can be a bank account-saver if the unforseen happens .

General Vacation Rental Tips & Tricks

You might be surprised to discover how many rental properties are available at your destination. Rental home accommodations have gained in popularity with the rise of global research sites like Tripadvisor and VRBO.

Vacation homes are usually owner operated or managed by rental management companies. For owners not directly involved with the management of their rental, management companies are instrumental in helping guests with reserving, check-in, housekeeping, and any maintenance problems that may occur.

We've assembled a short guide to assist you in getting most out of your rental property experience.

How to find and book the best vacation rental:

Before you book ""Vitamin Sea Suites" suite 2", review our short collection of considerations.

The Sooner, The Better

Like many renowned vacation spots, In Wilmington, NC the best rentals are booked early. Booking your rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is usually recommended, whenever possible. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years are excellent times to plan and book your rental..

Select a Village and Date

Quite often, the toughest portion of preparing for your vacation is figuring out where to search, and when. After the big decisions are tackled, the rest becomes much easier.

How Many Bedrooms?

Keep a list of attendees. How many beds and bedrooms will you need? Keep in mind that many homes advertise maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in the family room. It is important to figure out what is most appropriate for the family. Most vacation home listings will outline each one of the unit's specific bedrooms and mattress sizes.

Stick to a Budget

Will the preferred vacation property fit your budget during that popular Summer week? Make sure you get cost-sharing commitments from company before booking a pricey rental property. Generally, just one person in the group will be liable for making the whole reservation and collecting each person's share.

Its All About Amenities

What amenities is your group looking for? Is a screened-in porch a necessity? Do you want to be away from it all, or close to civilization? Are items like beach chairs, barbecue grills, beach umbrellas, carts or coolers at your disposal and included with your rental property payment? Make a list of prioritized "needs and wants" from your company to help narrow your search to the most suitable home.

Special Circumstances

Suitable access could make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. If wheel chair access, elevators, pool lifts or other specialized equipment is necessary, include that into your search. Almost all vacation home postings include a list of amenities.

Have You Considered 4-Legged Family Members?

Remember to include your best friend! Even though quite a few vacation homes permit household pets, rules and charges vary per property. Type of animal, size and breeds might be limited. Study your agreement carefully! Service fees may apply when pets are included. If in doubt, ask the property manager and get it in writing.

Start your Search

A number of websites exist to match guests with property owners.. Besides Homeaway, VRBO and Tripadvisor, we advise searching Google for "Wilmington, NC local vacation rentals" for local property management companies. Local property management companies proudly offer a top-quality rental experience.

Negotiate

Re-read the description to be certain the rental home has everything that you need. If something is missing, the vacation rental management company might know of very similar properties that better suit your style and budget..

Some property owners will negotiate rates, and some will not. If the rate isn't negotiable, the number of nights may be. The off-season offers your best opportunity to negotiate a lower rate.

Study the Entire Agreement

Read the whole agreement and make certain you understand who is liable for:

  • Utilities
  • Internet
  • Long Distance Calls
  • Hot Tub Heating
  • Cable and pay-per-view TV
  • Housekeeping
  • Trash Pickup (and which day?)
  • Maintenance (get a phone number)
  • Check in & Check Out Key Exchange
  • Parking Fees

Be sure that your quoted fee includes all state taxes and fees.

Cancelling your Rental

Ensure that you be aware of the cancellation policy before booking. Many vacation property contracts include an option for trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the standard vacation rental cost, can provide guests with reimbursement of their vacation costs (and subsequent rental costs) for any nights missed as a consequence of personal health related emergencies or weather, in addition to hurricane evacuation costs, such as a unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas.

Complete the Reservation

When you feel you've identified "the one", begin the booking process. You will likely be required to submit a security deposit at time of reservation.

Where to Get Assistance

Don't forget to get the property manager's contact phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the contact's information in your smart phone and wallet.

Congratulations on reserving your rental home! You're on your way to a phenomenal vacation!

During your Stay

  • Record the overall condition of the rental home right away. Call the property manager immediately to report your findings. This will prevent conflicts during check out.
  • Should there be any ambiguity about vehicle parking, policies of the property, house access, pool operations, etc... we suggest you ask the rental manager promptly. A phone call can save hours of difficulties.
  • Please be considerate of the community. Residents are likely to be as friendly to you as you are considerate of them. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a vacation much more relaxing.
  • Ask a local. Natives may point you in the right direction.
  • Be sure to protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental home secured when you are away, exactly like you would at home.

Checking Out

  • Double-check each room of the rental to confirm you've packed all belongings.
  • Once everything is out, perform a walk-through of the property to make certain no property damage occurred in the course of your stay. If it is possible, do this walk-out inspection with the property manager present. If the property manager is not available, make sure you take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • How do you feel about your stay? Most vacation rental websites request feedback after your stay . Rental owners and property managers will thank you for positive recommendations. If something went wrong, we recommend being understanding but straightforward regarding your stay. Top property owners and managers will try hard to correct the situation.

Iterate

Did they love their vacation? If everything was fantastic, next year's vacation planning is going to be quick. Otherwise, you have acquired invaluable rental search experience that can help with another search.
