Tips to get the optimal rental experience:

When to visit & When to reserve a Wilmington, NC rental home:

  • To find the best value, change your trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
  • In the Wilmington, NC area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked early. Reserving your vacation home six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • Some hosts offer rate reductions for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Wilmington, NC area visitors guides that include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Wilmington, NC area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Filter your search:

  • Choose a group leader, choose your trip dates, and choose a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. “Sunset Seaclusion” Condo with golf course view has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the host before you reserve the home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish what is suitable for your vacation family.
  • Looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or applied to your agreement.

More considerations:

  • Add the property manager's contact information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Upon check-in, make note of any issues with the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of problems.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental home while you are away. Keep your property safe!
  • At departure, take a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a fantastic stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches. See for yourself by scanning the QR code and call Victory Beach Vacations at 910.458.0868 to book your Cape Fear getaway. Start making your memories today! —Grace Silipigni
