Carolina Beach rental home tips:

Cost saving strategies:

  • The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked very early. Reserving your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of NC. Booking a rental in Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Some owners offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Wilmington, NC area travel guides which often include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Wilmington, NC area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to choose the best vacation home in Carolina Beach:

  • Select a group leader, select your vacation dates, and select a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Condo with Canal View 1 block from Ocean has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available online. If you don't see them listed, contact the property management company before booking the property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what is optimal for your vacation.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Does your family require special amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .

More tips for your stay:

  • Get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your . Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few problems.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • To make sure that no damages are attributed to your family's visit, record any problem areas during check in. Call the property manager right away to record your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your life at home. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget anything. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a excellent vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
