Wilmington, NC rental booking tips and tricks:

When to reserve a Wilmington, NC rental home & When to go:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To find the best value, consider shifting your vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Wilmington, NC area visitors guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Wilmington, NC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Choosing the perfect vacation home in Ocean Isle Beach:

  • To start, have your family select trip dates and a max budget.
  • Brunswick Vacation Rentals has 5 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is generally available on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property management company before you book the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what configuration is best for your family.
  • Visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or costs might be applied to your invoice.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • During arrival, note any issues with the property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be respectful. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on good feedback to drive future bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
