WE ARE BOOKED FOR THE REMAINDER OF 2023 AND ALL OF 2024!

Welcome to our family bungalow that was originally constructed in 1936. The bungalow was destroyed by Hurricane Hazel in 1954 and rebuilt with more rooms and a wrap-around porch. This is a real beach bungalow for those who savor the nostalgia of knotty pine walls and porch swings rather than hottub's and video games. The ocean and beach are your playground, but there's lot of other fun things to do just mins. away. A freshly modernized kitchen with all you need to fix a big family dinner and a dining table that seats twelve. Extra 'beach showers' are under the home and a outside shower is just off the porch for rinsing off after a swim in the ocean. Our seven families have adored this bungalow for more than 70 years and we are only offering limited weeks for rental. All week-long units are Sunday to Sunday. We will try to accommodate other dates if possible. 3-day minimum rental in off season only; one week minimum rental in high season. Cleaning fee of $250 required. Bring or rent your own linens. Rental deposit due at signing with remainder paid 30-days prior to visit. Certified checks, money orders and now credit cards accepted. Tax rate of 14% for state and New Hanover County taxes.

How to book the best Wilmington, NC rental experience:

Getting the most from your rental budget:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Carolina Beach. Reserving a rental home in Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Wilmington, NC visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guides contain deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Make a plan and choose your Wilmington, NC rental:

  • Start by choosing potential vacation weeks and a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Historic Oceanfront Cottage Near Downtown Carolina Beach! has 8 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Wilmington, NC vacation rental search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before booking the home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what configuration is right for your vacation family.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a property that allows animals. Request information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Looking for particular amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking

Additional considerations:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas upon check in. text the property manager immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on good reviews to drive new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
