Getting the best vacation rental experience:

Sticking to a rental home budget:

  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Book your Wilmington, NC rental home in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
  • Some property management companies offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Many rental management companies supply Wilmington, NC area visitors guide magazines which will include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Wilmington, NC area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Choosing the perfect rental in the Wilmington, NC area:

  • Select a designated group leader, select your vacation dates, and choose a max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. 5 BDRM Beach House - Everything You'll Need, 5\/15-8\/31 Min.1 wk, Sun to Sun! has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Wilmington, NC rentals search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available on booking pages. If not, call the host before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is optimal for your trip.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's an individual Wilmington, NC attraction you are enamored with, search for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental

More tips for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Store the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of issues.
  • Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
  • Make a record of any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if a dispute is filed.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected everything. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a great vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
