How to get the best Wilmington, NC vacation property experience:

Find your perfect rental:

  • In the Wilmington, NC area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • Reserving a rental home in Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties.
  • Some property management companies offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Wilmington, NC area visitor guides which will include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Wilmington, NC visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Planning, picking, and booking the right Wilmington, NC rental:

  • Select a designated group leader, select your vacation dates, and choose a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. It's A Good Life at Ocean Isle Beach, Private heated pool, close to beach, lots of amenities has 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is commonly available online. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before booking your rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is optimal for your group.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a rental that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, hosts charge additional pet fees.
  • Looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.

During your stay:

  • Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few issues.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • During arrival, document any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your home life. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a excellent time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
