Tips and Tricks to get the very best rental home experience:

When to visit & When to reserve a rental home:

  • Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring months is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Wilmington, NC area visitors guide magazines which include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Wilmington, NC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Finding the perfect rental home in Carolina Beach:

  • Start by selecting the best vacation week and a max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration you need. Oceanfront w\/Pool! Walk to Boardwalk! Beach Gear Included. has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the property owner before booking the vacation home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what configuration is best for your trip.
  • Looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly rental. Get details on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.

More tips for your stay:

  • Get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
  • To make sure damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas upon your arrival. E-mail the property manager immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few concerns.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your home life. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a wonderful time? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
