Welcome to EASY LIVING, our comfortable beach home appealingly located between the historic beach side Boardwalk and the Carolina Beach North End Fishing Pier where the beaches are less busy. This home/bungalow is a duplex with the family using Side A and Side B is the rental unit. Our grandfather constructed this bungalow in the late 1940's. It was partially refreshed in 2009 but still maintains that old bungalow feel. Walk in to a very bright and eclectically decorated beachfront property. This duplex offers well outfitted kitchen and dining areas including cookware, dishes and silverware, living room and half bath downstairs. Upstairs you will find four bedrooms and one, on the smaller size, full bath with shower. Each room has enormous windows, ceiling fans, a modest closet and a chest of drawers or dresser. The two bigger bedrooms have queen beds while the two smaller rooms have full beds. The master bedroom has upper porch access. Outside appreciate a great view of the beach while you rock to your hearts content on the upstairs porch with 2 rockers, or take the stairs down to the beach boardwalk and savor the beach itself. Also available for your use on the downstairs porch are charcoal grille and rocker seating. Come in from a fun day on the beach, rinse off and take a seat on the bench halfway down the private boardwalk beach access. Or come straight to rinse off in the outside shower available on the porch. The huge porch on the street side is ideal for watching the sun go down and people watching when winding down after a day on the beach. There is no smoking allowed inside the duplex and no family pets are allowed. Renters provide their own paper products (paper towels, toilet paper, etc.).

Tips and Tricks to get the very best vacation property experience:

Find your perfect vacation home:

  • Summer time is high season in the Wilmington, NC area. To book the best vacation home within budget, we highly recommend booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some owners offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers often offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Look for your local Wilmington, NC area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides have coupons for local tours, shops, and attractions.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Select vacation dates and budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Oceanfront 4BR 2 Story Duplex with Private Beach Access has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible on booking websites. If not, email the property management company before reserving your rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
  • Are you looking for special amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
  • Some properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.

Know before you go:

  • Store the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
  • During check-in, make note of any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of problems.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your peaceful home. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would have not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed everything at check-out. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and scan for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to inspire more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
