How to book the best vacation property experience:

Getting the best rental value:

  • Summer is high season in Holden Beach. To find the best value, shift your family's Wilmington, NC vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property managers usually offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Wilmington, NC area travel guides that include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Wilmington, NC visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Planning, selecting, and booking the perfectvacation home:

  • Start by having your family choose the best dates and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Oceanfront duplex with beach access, two primary suites, & chef's kitchen has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is usually available on booking pages. If not, reach out to the host before reserving the property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish which bed configuration is optimal for your vacation family.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.

Know before you go:

  • Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Record any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if damages are assessed.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many difficulties.
  • Respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to drive future reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
