Rental booking tips:

How to get the best rental value:

  • Summer months are high season in the Wilmington, NC area. To get the best rental for your budget, we suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular Wilmington, NC attractions. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Wilmington, NC area travel guide magazines which often include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Wilmington, NC visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning and picking the perfect Wilmington, NC rental home:

  • Begin by selecting vacation dates and a max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. On the beach in minutes & 1 mile to the CB boardwalk! has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is generally available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before reserving the property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Is your group looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or costs could be applied to your agreement.

Tips for your stay:

  • Add the property manager's phone number to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Document any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if damages are assessed.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many problems.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your peace. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a wonderful stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
