How to find the best vacation home experience:

Get the most from your rental home budget:

  • In the Wilmington, NC area, The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation property up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • To get the largest rental home within budget, we recommend reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Wilmington, NC area travel guides which will include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Wilmington, NC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Begin by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Rusty Anchor OKI - Walk to the Beach, Pet Friendly, Fenced Yard! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the host before you book the rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You will need to work out which bed configuration is suitable for your vacation.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you must book a pet-friendly property. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
  • If there's a specific Wilmington, NC beach you are crazy about, browse homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.

More tips for your visit:

  • Add the host's contact information to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of issues.
  • Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let crooks spoil your trip.
  • At Check-in, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a great stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.

Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
