Tips for getting the best Carolina Beach rental home experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To get the best value, try changing your vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Wilmington, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers usually offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Wilmington, NC visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

How to choose the best vacation rental:

  • Start by choosing your vacation dates and a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Seas the Day! Best Oceanfront Views, Just Renovated! 2bd\/2ba has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property management company before reserving your home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your smartphone.
  • At Check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many concerns.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental home while you're out. Keep your property safe!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a wonderful time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
